Working from her home studio in Decatur GA Judy Parady produces sculpture, painting and jewelry reflecting interests in both empirical science and metaphysics. Past subjects include depictions of photographic film tinged by cosmic radiation, and complex patination of metals that illustrate electron exchange. Current work involves divination and talisman-making as an artistic discipline. The scale of her work ranges from intimate wearable ornamentation to environmental installations made using natural or reclaimed materials including recycled magnetic video tape, home-grown crystals, salt, wax, gems, paper and metal. Ms. Parady recently completed an MFA in sculpture from Georgia State University. Her work is exhibited nationally and occasionally includes a curatorial role.
