BACKGROUND
The Women’s Caucus for Art of Georgia (WCAGA) is a chapter of the National Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA) which was founded in 1972, in an attempt to bring women’s issues to the foreground of the College Art Association (CAA) and beyond. The focus was and continues to be, supporting, recognizing and educating emerging and established women artists, art historians, critics, curators, museum personnel and other visual arts professionals.
Within the last five years, WCAGA has been pursuing opportunities for exhibitions in Georgia, primarily in Atlanta. During this time, we have mounted exhibits in galleries, colleges and alternative spaces throughout the metro area including Barbara Archer Gallery, The Forum Gallery at the Defoor Centre, 3TEN Haustudio, Temple Gallery, Georgia Perimeter College and Kennesaw State University, Sun Dial Restaurant, Paint in the Pods, Art Station, Athica for Lease in Athens GA and The Presbyterian College, Clinton SC.
Earthly Structures
Who creates our earthly structures? Are they physical reflections created by human hand, natural phenomenon, cultural or psychic in nature; are they molecular in size or as large as the planet? Humans are more than ever, coming into closer contact with these different earthly structures. This prompts many artists to explore with their art, what this means, what this does and what we can learn. Using different media such as painting, collage, assemblage or mixed-media – elements of line and texture emerge to create strong compositions.
Eligibility: The first 35 artists to submit their applications
Current and new members of the Women’s Caucus for Art of Georgia are invited to submit 3 images.
Rules of Entry:

Entries will be curated from digital, Jpg format with a maximum of three works submitted. Submission Media: e-mail or mail a CD of images with your application for exhibit. File Name: Name your image(s) with last name, title and number

3. All digital files must be accompanied by an Official Entry Form that lists: title, media, size, date and price.
4.. Entries must be postmarked by March 15 , 2009
6. Entry Fee: There is a $25.00 entry fee.
Notification:
Accepted artists will be notified of the image chosen by March 18, 2009.
Requirements for accepted work:
1. All Two-Dimensional work must be appropriately and professionally presented and ready to hang
Delivery of work:
If you need to Mail your work for installation, please mail to Barb Rehg to arrive no later than March 24.

Drop off - March 28 – 10 to 1pm
Delivery and pick up of your work is the artist’s responsibility, If you are unable to do so on the date and time indicated, you need to make arrangements. Atlanta Public Library Galllery does not have storage facilities for work left after the show is taken down.
Security: insurance once work is installed.
Art Sales:
Artists may set a price for their work or indicate Not For Sale (NFS). Sold work must remain for the full duration of the exhibit. The artist should provide contact information.
